Yeovil is situated in the South West of England in the County of Somerset, 130 miles from London, 40 miles south of Bristol and on the border with the County of Dorset.
Yeovil was primarily a Market Town but now the largest single employer is Augusta Westland (formally Westland Helicopters) famous throughout the world for it’s helicopters extensively used by the military forces and for Search and Rescue.
Originally Yeovil was known for it’s glove manufacturing and is still the home of ‘Pittards’ the internationally famous leather dressers who have supplied us with the leather for our unique club banners.
Yeovil has a population of 40,000 but with the close proximity
of many villages has a catchment population of
approximately 70,000.
The nearest town is Sherborne, 5-miles
away in Dorset and they also have a
Lions Club albeit in District 105D.
