On the 12th and 19th of December our Father Christmas Sleigh complete with Father Christmas was taken in to the town and sited adjacent to the High Street at the end of King George Street. This year our collection was going to support Fiveways Special School in providing a mechanical horse to simulate riding for the pupils who are unable to ride a normal horse. It was a cause that the people of Yeovil and District supported in their usual very generous way. The economic situation and the bitterly cold weather took it’s toll on the collections but the sum of £1088.00 will go towards the appeal.

The sleigh complete with Father Christmas and a rather cold looking set of Yeovil Lions together with one of our wives who had just finished their shift of collecting on a bitterly cold Saturday morning.The members did two shifts 10.00am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 4.00pm during which time Carols and Christmas music was played.
